Debut of the Harold Simmons Entrepreneur Fund

The Board of Directors, administration, family, and guests enjoyed a congenial evening dinner party at Giulio’s Cucina Italiana restaurant in Livonia on Thursday, January 20th. Conceived by Chairperson Alma Handy-Simmons, the party was held as an alternative to the January Board meeting. A great time was had by all.
The Harold Simmons Entrepreneur Fund, established by Board Chairperson Alma Handy-Simmons in memory of her late husband, Harold, was formally introduced at the gathering. The Fund will provide loans to consumers for expenses associated with starting and operating a business. A plaque memorializing Mr. Simmons and honoring donors to the fund was presented this evening. The plaque will include the names of all those who contribute $500 or more to the fund.
